[SOLVED] The Mystery of my GPUs

Hello everybody,

I'm here to ask you for an opinion on two facts that happened to me. I'd like to know if they're coincidences or there might be a bigger problem.

About a year ago my nvidia Titan (2012) died. Today my R290 (2012 also) has had problems: if I start any video game after a short time the screen says "gpu not found" and it turns off (PC stays on, only the screen turns off because it does not find any input). So I have to restart my PC.

I had already asked on this forum for an opinion about my build which is excellent although not very recent. The only problem I've been disputed is the 700w power supply from a Chinese brand (ADJ) that doesn't seem to be particularly good. Could it be that the power supply spoils a gpu? I tried both GPUs on a friend's computer and they don't work even there.

My suspicions are two: or the computer does not cool properly and the video card in the long run spoils or I am just very unlucky.

Important information: If I don't start any games, computer works well. The CPU has no built-in GPUs. So it's weird. The temperature never rose above 55-56 degrees when it stopped working.

Thank you very much to anyone who will help me.

Here is the build:

CPU: Intel i7-5820K 3.30 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
GPU: AMD R290 Vapor-x
Motherboard: ASUS STRIX x99 Gaming

Solution
A junk PSU can cause this easily. Neither should have been ever paired with a dodgy mystery PSU. What's the exact brand and model? The PSU is the most important part of your PC and you've essentially been running your expensive Italian sports car on motor oil you siphoned from a puddle you find at the county dump.

Thanks for the answer. So better to change the power supply first then the GPU.

What PSU do you suggest for an RTX 3070? I was thinking about buying one of them.
