Hi all, so I've recently built a mini itx gaming system and the case I use is an InWin A1 Plus case. However after using it for a bit, the power button seems to be broken. It no longer clicks when I press it and instead feels rather spongey? (not providing any tactical feedback) however, the pc still turns on but only like a second after I have pressed the button. I hear a distinct single click noise when the pc starts up as well (not when I press the button). The clicking from what I know seems to be a normal thing when turning on/off your computer. I will probably get a replacement however I am still worried that using a broken power button (that still somewhat works?) could potentially damage maybe my power supply or some other component, because of the clicking noise which only happens when the pc starts up and shuts down. Should I be worried about this or am I ok?

"Power button" is just a momentary single pole, normally open switch, same as old type doorbell button. Nothing there that could damage anything. In your case it sounds like bad contacts. Clicks you hear when starting usually come from PSU (capacitors charging) or HDD starting and heads engaging or parking, nothing unusual there

So I should be fine using the broken power button? Because I don't mind using it like this as long as it doesn't damage my computer in any way

Power buttons can be replaced, if you wish to go this route without the need to replace the entire case:

or if the above power button switch does not fit your case (since the button is too tall), then this will work but the wire will have to be routed outside the case then on top of your desk for convenient access.

Although the button itself provides no tactical feedback (and is really spongy), the pc still seems to turn on although the lack of feedback is a little annoying, but I'm fine with using it as long as it doesn't damage my pc in any way. Should I be ok with just using the button as is currently?
