Question The Seasonic FOCUS GX-650 and Hybrid Mode.

So my new PSU comes with a nifty hybrid mode I'd like the take advantage of. However my Meshify C case like with many cases has some bottom vents and a mesh filter for the PSU to breathe through, and I'm definitely taking advantage of that. The Seasonic manual advises to place the PSU fan facing upward into the case when utilizing hybrid mode--what's the reasoning behind this, and is there a reason it shouldn't operate in hybrid mode when facing down?

For clarification Hybrid Mode means the fan will not spin until a certain load or temperature is reached.

If the fan opening is up, heat can radiate out of the unit while the fan is off.
