Well actually I was anticipating a comment about 'consolers settle for them because they have crappy rigs' and actually you about said that in your reply to me despite saying rigs have nothing to do with it at the same time.
Truely my comment about Eden's rig was to preempt a comment like this;
and in this case most peeps who dis the PC just dont have the skills to compete or use a pc or the money to run one.
So my comments kinda refutes that statement. Personally the people with the means get what they want. I have an Xbox despite myself (Hate M$!), and I have multiple rigs. Sometimes the Xbox is fun, especially when drinking with friends, but the Xbox wasn't the visual tour de force the PS2 WAS when released. Of course now they suck in comparison, but you may find that if developed properly for, they may blow away the PCs for the firat little bit. Personally I don't care too much, but consoles are definitely more limited than PCs, and their graphics will overall always be less 'able' than the PC versions but the thing right now is that the Xbox360 has the nice unified shader design with the R500 which gives it MASSIVE vertex power in comparison to the R520, whether this matters short term is hard to tell, but long term this is the direction most people are saying games will go.
Being a good gamer doesn't rely on the rig, and that goes for console or PC, so that previous statement just doesn't fitanymore. There are many games you can show where the PC version is/was awesome and the console version sucks, but there are others that are the other way around (Halo, Final Fantasy).
Considering I still go to the arcades near work, I'd say both the PC and Console take a backseat to that, and anyone who denies it hasn't been to a modern arcade (especially the licensed kind
😎 ).
