Thats true. But for the rest of the games , id better play with a controller.

Let's see when i'd rather use a controller...

Shooting games i like the precision of Kb/Mouse
RTS, well KB and Mouse are required
Driving games i like my steering wheel
Aircraft simulations i like my trusty force feedback joystick
Overly complicated simulations such as X2 the Threat, a KB/Mouse/Joystick combination is REQUIRED!
I absolutely hate sport games, because i'd rather go out and play the sport myself.

You see controllers really isn't too useful for spoiled little shits like me, but for people who are kinda poor, the controller is a great alternative.

In some matter a controller is better than a mouse/kb for fps.
Controller > Keyboard for racing.
Aircraft simulator, people play them?

There is nothing stopping M$ from releasing a mouse and keyboard for x360...and yes your a :

spoiled little shits

Just to add, BIG GAMES are normally relased for PCs first! (Doom 3, HL-2? More to add? And they almost ALWAYS look better on PC)

PC OWNS XBOXES. I don't see 1GB DDR400 LOW LATENCY RAM on consoles.

And ya haha u really wanted to start a discussion =p

What?!!!!:
----------------------------------------------------------
In some matter a controller is better than a mouse/kb for fps.
----------------------------------------------------------

How? actually dont bother ur responce will be dull and unresponsive like a ps2 controller/ Xbox controller.

-----------------------------------------------
Controller > Keyboard for racing.
-----------------------------------------------

Yes ok, i am a little mithed, where do you live exactly the south pole or the moon or somthing!

Ever heard of a Force feedback wheel for the PC, most of the major Peripheral makers make one for the PC.

--------------------------------------------------
Aircraft simulator, people play them?
--------------------------------------------------

Ever heard of combat simulaters/ or games like freelancer e,t,c if not well what can i say you obvisouly make the most out of your ps1.

i think we need to donate money to you or send you are surplus pc games, old parts e,t,c so you will be able to understand the full potential of your pc for games.

---------------------------------------------------
There is nothing stopping M$ from releasing a mouse and keyboard for x360
---------------------------------------------------

Nothing stopped Sony making a keyboard/mouse for its consoles or nintendo for that matter. And your point is?

PC is more versatile than a Console period.

What ever you have for a console a pc has it, and more. (for the moment) where a pc lacks in games is probably sports games like boxing e,t,c. but it smashes all other fields.

PC also has many types of controllers, it can also use the Xbox controller with a adapter.

I use a Logitech Wingman Force gamepad for motorcycle racing, snowmobile racing games, and sports games. Besides that, I agree with you on the the KB&Mouse, Racing wheel, and Joystick games. A gamepad can be used for most games sure, but it'd far from the way I want to play.

A joypad makes life soooo much easier for games like Vice City. Otherwise you end up with some horrible method swapping between controllers... A joypad is simply a nice all-round solution (and the driving in VC is not near simulation-style enough to really benifit using a wheel)

Many arcade games are simply not suited to anything other than a joypad. For example The tony hawk's series. I bet you there isn't a person in the world that could play that better than me with anything other than a joypad.

I own a PS2. It's nice to just be able to veg out in front of the TV, with a couple of friends playing some game or other. They're nice and simple. I also own an adapter for turning a PS2 joypad into a PC gamepad, since it's so much better than all other offerings. I reserve a special quantity of hate for the Xbox joypad. There is no 'Joy' involved in that unwieldy POS.
What ever you have for a console a pc has it, and more.
Almost. I want the gran turismo Games to come out on PC... Nothing else is quite as entertaining, IMO :frown: . The NFS:UG 1 and 2 games where almost heading in the right direction though.

Plus of course, the thing which hasn't really been pointed out that will ensure consoles will never dominate PCs... The Amateur modding community. Consoles are never going to be very mod-friendly, but there's always plenty of people doing mods for all popular games on PC. How many levels are available for the original Doom on PC? tens, of not hundreds of thousands by now. How many of those are playable on the Playstation version? None. (aside from a couple of sanctioned (therefore not free) expansion disks I guess)

Ho hum, obviously I'm too bored with work today...

Controller better than kb/mouse in FPS? yeah... i'll take you on any day with my kb/mouse in any FPS, i'll kick your ass.

I'd love to see RTS made for the consoles, it's going to be hilariously painful to watch people play that.

Id probably kick your ass at halo with my controller. 😛

Yea but big games are now announced for the 360 and not the pc. Youll never see perfect dark zero or halo 3 on your pc. And btw hl2 and doom3 both kinda sucked. Games on xbox 360 look wayyyyy better than anything we have seen on pc.

Oh i dont see 1 gig of ddr400 neither, i see 512mb of GDDR3 and 10mb on chip graphic memory, that mean FREE high resolution anti aliasing (no performance hit).

AS for the keyboard/mouse issue, id say i prefer playing all the games with a controller than playing all the games with a keyboard. Xbox 360 has usb ports and the controllers work with a pc and vice versa. I dont see why you could not plug in the controller you want. IMO that is a non-issue.

Your also totally missing my point. How much did you pay for your pc in total, 1k , 1.5k?

Now if i told you , you could get this pc:
3.2ghz powerpc tripe core (3.2ghz x 3)
512mb GDDR3 low timing shared memory interface.
Radeon r500 with 10mb on chip memory.
on-board lan, wi-fi, 12x dvd player
20 gig hard drive
Watercooled quiet heatsink solution.
Wireless controller included.

FOR 299$ USD

your absolutly correct about GT, its excelent fun and i wish it was ported to PC, also 2 player games rock on a PS2 (notice how XBOX is not mentioned) the PS2 pad is the best ever hand held controller i have ever used IMO.

Also GTA: VC/SA, i dont agree with the pad being betta, i recieved a ps2 from my darling wife because i could not wait for GTA:SA to be ported to a PC, and to be honest M and KB is much betta than the PS2 pad, like aiming fast headshots e,t,c plus controlling cars the analogs take a lot of getting used to not the best, straight forward keyboard control of cars feels more responsive in the GTA line up.

I used to play GTA back in 1997 on the PC, i might be a little bios sorry!

Hello ps2 fanboy much?

I agree that a keyboard must be more responsive on a pc compared to the ps2, how can something be responsive when its running at 10fps?

eh, what else is new.

There will be PC gaming as long as there are PCs. Moore's law will keep the PC game industry alive.

You sound like a Xbox360 fanboy, so buy one on the first day when it hit retail shelves at inflated prices, and then please tell me the exact model number on the bios chip so i can figure out how to flash it and get pirated games to work😀

I'd love to challenge you to a game of halo with keyboard/mouse i gurantee you will lose, especially when it comes to sniping.

lol u joke, PC`s own u and u love ur PC. We know what u do with urs!

lol pad boy.

Pad boy = Maxi Pad.

with the xbox 360 so close in specs to an actual pc, is it possible for this console and others like it to be affected by the same problems? Of course i refer to adware and viruses.

watch 6 months after the xbox 360 is released, it will get hit with a virus and xbox will just happen to have a $70(can) removal sytem for it. i wouldn't be surprised. they have done it before, like the shipping of those fat xbox controllers, then releasing the slim ones. you all know that was a marketing strtegy, and it worked.

with wireless networking everywhere and big harddrives i think it is more than possible. tell me if this is too far fetched.

The architechture is actually quite different. Much more different from a pc than the past xbox, and console virus are non-existant.

I agree with john, wireless network everywhere does seem like a ticking timebomb. If anybody actually bothers making a Xbox360 virus, i'm sure it'll be much harder than making a pc virus, it'll screw over a lot of people.

Console virus are not possible. There is no software os to corrupt, its all hardware. *sigh*
