There is something wrong here???

I have a Full HD monitor but it doesn't have HDMI port so I used VGA cable.
But,since I knew that VGA stops at 720p. But why are mine is 1080p. I am using VGA cable only,no HDMI switch or anything.Any idea?

VGA can do 1080p. It can support upto 2048×1536 @85 Hz

VGA is capable of 1080p. Never heard of it stopping at 720p.
