Thermaltake cooler and AM3 socket? not sure please help

Hello all well i currently am in the middle of putting my new computer together and well its been 5 years since my last one.

From everything ive read its my understanding that AM2+ cpu coolers are compatable with AM3 sockets. Maybe im wrong. If im correct can someone please tell me how to put this cooler together to fit. Just looking at it and the instructions are not helping me at all. Maybe im missing a piece or something.

yes am2+ will will work just find, only thing that change was how maney pins the cpu have for the motherboard. The am3 has 2 less pins on there cpu then the am2+.
