Hellooooooo.

Sorry for my long absense but work has been a killer(why dont you people brush your teeth?????). Anyway nice work on closing the gap from the high 150 to the low 150's. I finally hit 5000 today but have many more foldings to do.

Well I guess we could make some custom designed socks with the folding proteins all around it and walk around saying,"Where is sock baby?"

Team Shirts or Socks?

Molar

ah, i get it now, molar, cause your a dentist!

go tell your alien brothers, that ronnie cordova says they're gay!!! sock baby

I have to say slvr_phoenix that I laughed my ass off on you Folding sayings.

Loved them 😀 !!! Hope everyone reads them and gets a chuckle. Thanks!

i agree, bloody funny

still, has anyone tried to hibenate their computer with folding running, because i tried twice and both times my pc wouldn't start up without deleting all restorative data, i didn't loose any data mind you and i kept on folding from where i left off so it's not too much of a problem, um yeah, the hibernating still didn't work soo i was just wondering is anyone else had this problem

dude, seriously, the t shirt idea needs to go away.
Yeah, I don't get to wear t-shirts too often (and typically I don't wear them even when I can) so I'm not so keen on the t-shirt idea either. :\ But hey.

Maybe someone could write a THGC F@H screen saver? Or maybe an Outlook autosignature plugin? 🙁 I don't know. I can't think of anything good.

Although... I did like the notion of begging hardware companies for handouts to award as prizes. I'm not sure of a fair system to award those prizes though.

But maybe if someone actually made a cool THGC F@H website as a shameless promotion for hardware companies to get a woody over seeing their logo prominantly displayed at along with pictures of sickeningly happy THGC prize winners with their product(s), maybe that'd increase our chances of actually convincing some hardware company to give us pretty shinies to hand out.

I wonder if it would be possible to organize some kind of official gathering with webcasts of folks who wanted to attend but couldn't for the press factor.

I mean, really, we do rank pretty high as a team, especially for as ragtag as we are. And it's for a cool cause. So you'd think that if we marketed things right we could get some cool free stuff and a few of our smiling faces published. Maybe someone with a crappy old dinosaur could even be awarded a shiny new PC to fold with.

Of course, then again, I am crazy. 😱

Members Changed: +1 Total 108 Welcome aboard "Theo Binney".. may all your folding be fun and productive. If you haven't done so already turning on large molecules if u have a good bit of memory will help you get bigger molecules.

Project Rank: 147 (-1) of 37349. We ARE going to make the top 100 teams in the world just stick together.

Those juicy 600 pointers should be rolling in soon. I hope it ups our average a bit. I think/hope some people are not reporting because it's taking awhile for the long fold queues to clear

!!! Go Team Go !!!

"Molar" has suggested T-Shirts. We've had some interest and some people like the idea. If any of you have the inclination you might submit a design. Like the idea of molecules and Toms Logo and even if we don't do T-shirts it could be good elsewhere.

How about beer "coasters" or "keychains". Maybe blank CD's? Special cheesies. Maybe a nice chocolate cake.

We continue to look for even MORE contest/team ideas 🙂.

Bringing it back up and to ask a question.
I reinstalled XP SP2 on C drive folding is on E drive. Can I reinstall over to get the autostart options back? without losing the running fold?
I'm losing folding time on one slow machine working on a 400 pointer and it is almost finished.
. .
Please Fold for someone you know.

I aint signing nothing!!!

Rick,

Far as I know copy the entire directory elsewhere. re-install and then copy the directory back

You can always check the settings and tweak them again after.

Hi folks!
Today, I'm trying a different motivational apporach:
I woke up and looked at the stats (like I do every day, of course) and I didn't like what I saw there: We've got a new threat! It's "Mozillazine", a team a little older than ours (judging from their team-number and date of first contribution) - and their average has just notched a little over ours - BUT! - they've got 41(!) new team-members in the last 7 days, so their average is bound to increase over the next few weeks and we may well have to keep an eye on them!!
So, here's what I say: Start recruiting new members/machines now, so we can fight back those mozillazine-readers when they'll eventually reach us (which will be sooner than the currently advertised 2088 days IMO)!!
cheers! congrats to me! (did you win the race with flinx, or was there none?) and to ChipDeath! (look out!!) and of course, to Huh, SidVicious and all the others who made a milestone, recently!

It's not a race. Flinx and I were trying to get into the top 10k of folders. That was too easy, so I suggested we go for the top 1%. At the time, that was about 80K points. Now it's at about 90K. After that, I'm just going to try to find a new goal. The top 1K is too far away. Nice short goals help keep "me" focused.

well, I think, being in the top 5K folders, like you both are, is also quite a remarkable achievment! (unfortunately) it's not a short term goal: keep ahead of me!

Cool ,back up and auto running.
Thanks guys. I can build and overclock the hell out of hardware. But with software I'm like DUUUHHHHH???????
Could we maybe change the title to "THGC Needs You. ??
With all of the support we give out to anyone and everyone (and the lack of support from the site itself).
We might get a few more folders if people thought they were supporting US instead of Toms.

Just a thought.

Well some of the threads have been around to long to change but every once in awhile I start a fresh thread and I can do that for sure.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Project Rank: 147 (-1) of 37349. We ARE going to make the top 100 teams in the world just stick together.

The team average is starting to go back up. Like mine. Some of those juicy 600 pointers came our way. Last week our average was still over 100,000 points so we're doing ok but things seem to have dropped off a bit here and there. Good new is that pretty soon we'll be hitting 1.5M points; another worthwhile celebration.

We have three contributors over 100k points. That's not bad. 100k is a very nice tarket for the multimachine folders. 20k or 25k is really nice target for the single machine folder. We have over 30 people who are in the top 1% of individual contributors and our team is certainly there too.

Was another good week fellow folders. Can't be bad at all when you do a good turn.

!!! Go Team Go !!!

Congrats to all the new mile stones or for those hippies mild stone! I will try to get a few more involved to see if maybe we can push this puppy a little faster.

Molar<---I fold the laundry because my wife told me to do it..... I fold proteins because I want to do it.

Sorry about the missing zero. It was nothing.. really  .

Yes, 10% or the people, 1% for the team. Although we do have 3 in the 1% range and you and I are comming up to that.

The loving are the daring!

We have over 30 people who are in the top 1% of individual contributors and our team is certainly there too.
You mean 10% right? 1% of 446000 is 4460.
hmm; I'd like to mediate here... -- it all depends on what you're counting: Total points or "Daily Average"? I think, the "Daily Average" is a good indicator of a teams current contribution to the folding communitiy.
Here's a small list from this update: 04.12.05, 9am CDT
The first column is the team-rank, then alias used with FAH and the last column states the overall rank, sorted by daily average:
1. sjonnie 176
2. apesoccer 356
3. sparky853 553
4. Stefan 664
5. Xnilf 1107
6. me 1445
7. ChipDeath 2099
8. Folken 2339
9. fishman 2549
10. Stiffler_=)Ai(= 3007
11. acron1 3128
12. Molarman777_the_original_MOLAR 3602
13. Huh 3726
14. Jimbomanx 4097
15. MasterPooBaa 4271
(16. palmerg 4483)
Total Users counted by ExtremeOC: 446712
So: palmerg is just outside of the 1st %! That means, we've got 15 people in the top 1% of current contributors!
cheers!

I hate to burst your bubble but according to F@H stats, there are only 160K active cpus right now, so to compare 1 day's performance, 10% would be < 1600, so the cut off would be after "me".
It is also a rather unusual day that "me" is 6th in that list.

phew! of course, you're right!
that's accurate!
the only thing, I'd like to challenge is your
"10% would be < 1600"
where I think, now that's one zero to many!
(ie. 1% would be < 1600!!!)

i got another friend to do folding@home, he wont end up contributing much but he'll do his part, i hope

his user name should just be: 'richard_turner'
ironicly his first wu is 400frames long so he wont be on the list for a fair few days

i dont think i ever told anyoine my user name which is: 'theo_binney'

My what intersting stats. Makes me feel better about my contribution.

Did you notice that "Mozillaine" is chasing us? They are in postion 184. They seemed to have upped their production significantly. They have added 26 people to their team in the last 7 days!!!! Fortuneately, they seem to be modest folders for the most part. Still 26 .. wow.

Oh and keep recruiting Ted; good job.
