Thanks. 😀 For me, its feels great to be able to participate in folding@home. When I was younger, I wanted to become a scientist but sadly, I didn't have what it takes to become one. 🙁

Though I do not have the financial resources to build several dedicated rigs, I try to help by spreading the word and contribute whatever spare time I have.

Every one on the team is important, as each and every one is involved in benefiting our generation as well as the next generation. Let's hope a cure for all these diseases can be found within the next ten years. Wanted to say three years, but I suppose thats too optimistic for now.

Of course, if the total number of folders increase ten fold, then my wish may not seem too far fatched. Fold for science and for our team :!:
 
Added a 800mhz - P3M to my Folding CPU's... Crazy enough, it was given a 50000 frame WU for it's first one.... :?

Working hard on getting the 4 servers at work onto doing some F@H.

4 x Dual CPU, Dual Core 3.2Ghz Xeons.
Combined Processing Power = 51.2Ghz 😛 Will hopefully add some serious power to the THG team :wink:
 
Well, i finally got around to posting - i've been folding for THGC for a few weeks now - long enough to get up to 1981 points. I just thought I'd let you all know I'm contributing. I have 3 computers going almost 24/7...one D820, one pentium M 1.6, and one PIII 600. I'll keep it up, and i'm going to get my dad to start folding as soon as I build him his new comp (E6300). I'm going to see if he can put it on his work machines as well - about 20 P4 2.8...we'll see!
 
do you guys want to start putting "fold for team 40051" in your sigs... maybe it'll get the message out more... how about a link too... i'm gonna change mine now to have a link to this thread and i already have a download link for it.

ok, couldn't do it properly, can someone help me out in getting my sig right? it would be great if i could get the "main thread" to be a link instead of having that huge url listed after it as well as the "download here"... PM me please...

(i tried doing it like the BB code in the standard posts... either i did it wrong or it doesn't work)

re the bbcode: i think it only accepts something with a pic-like ending, like ".gif" or ".jpg" between the tags...
re the html: it's not accepted in your sig

re the sig generally: it used to work with sig-images from [url=http://www.dcsig.com]this liquid-ninja link[/url] in this forum, like my sig if it works at the moment (there was a prolonged outage in october)
 
I found some useful information at the folding forums. It seems that unnecessarily having your "Use Internet Explorer Connection settings" checked will mess up WU submission if you've installed IE7. Just wanted to make everyone was aware of this issue.

Edit: Got my new dual-core Opty. I'm loving it. Almost to 3GHz and haven't hit the ceiling yet. Slightly concerned about my load temps, but I will soon have a new cooler on the way. Anyone know anything about the Freezone by Coolit Systems? I found it on FrozenCPU, here, but was unsure of its capabilties, as I've not seen any reviews. According to their own tests, of course, it seems quite capable. In fact, more so than just about any water cooling kit I could put together. Downsides? Only cools the CPU. But in that respect, I could water cool everything else, and use this on the CPU still. I dunno. Thoughts, opinions?
 
I worked out how to put the sig stats into your signature 8)

Mr Sloth's Guide to "Cheat the IMG TAG's in PHP forums"

Step One:
Use this form of link: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/sigs/sigimage.php/un=Geeky_Byzantine/t=40051/c1=00ff00/c2=000000/c3=000000/c4=0000ff/c5=ff9933

Notice it replaces the PHP ? and &'s with /'s, which tricks it into thinking it is a directory and not a string query 😛

Step Two:

Go to http://tinyurl.com and convert the above address into a tiny URL... (Here's one I prepared earlier: http://tinyurl.com/y3bt5n :) )

Step Three:

Use the following tag:
[code:1:617095a610]
.gif
[/code:1:617095a610]

The TinyURL link gives the direction to the correct place of the PHP generated image, the ".gif" tricks the IMG tags into thinking it is a real picture.... (The generated PHP image is infact a .gif file output)

Hi guys! I'm a noob at this folding thing as you can see in my number of post :lol:

just wondering how long does it usually take to process a WU? I just started tonight and it said that WU End is Jan 18 2007? Is something wrong with my setup?

im using:
E6300
1Gig DDR2-800
X1900XT

other thoughts:
-I'm using the GPU client right now but i don't see the GPU clock increase as it does normally when playing 3D games. Is this normal?
-Since this is the GPU client, how come it takes 50% of my CPU time?
-I've read that Dual cores can run two FAH clients, does that mean I can run 3 total with 1 from GPU and 2 from CPU?
-Is it ok to run this setup 24/7? I checked that GPU temp is still 55C

sorry if these questions have been asked before, i just didn't have time to search the forums as its midnight now and yeah google is my friend but i'm tired :cry:
 
I wouldn't say Genius, just experienced with PHP and creating work arounds (Ever seens someone save a txt file as CSV because he doesn't have excel and needs to have Text-To-Columns which Open Office doesn't do) :lol: I've just added the link to mine too... I'll update the guide to show an optional bit of code for the link tag too 8)
 
Hey everybody!

Just finished my first work unit for the team and thought I'd say howdy.

I'm using idle clocks on my E6600 rig, so I won't be up there with you folding-farm guys but I can do some useful work.
 
All Right people, another million point month. 😀 I wasn't sure we were going to make it but we did, just. 😀 That makes 2 in a row now. Lets see if we can keep it up. Hopefully with a little better margin for December. :wink:
 
Well...

Today I added one of our DualCore 2P servers to my folding farm.... 4 x 3.2Ghz cores... Currently using this server as a test to see if it will cause problems before I commit it to the other 4 servers...

Yes, but we're all addicted, so it helps to make up for a lot of the others that don't fold. :wink:

Seriously though, it would be great to get more members. I'd love to see Team 40051 in the top 50 by the end of next year. Think we can do it?
