Hello,

Im buying a new 32" gaming monitor.
Replacing my 11 year old 27" LG because its flickering during gaming.
Im looking for 1440p monitor.

And Im kinda CONFUSED about couple of things.

1. FreeSync vs. G-Sync diffrence between those two (i have nvidia 3070 ti do i HAVE to buy a monitor which supports NVIDIA G-sync or it doesn't matter????)

2. HDR what is it for? Can i use it in gaming (diffrence HDR 400 vs. HDR 1000?)

3. VA VS. IPS ????

4. Do i need more than 165HZ display (i only play WAR THUNDER and occasionaly INSURGENCY Sandstorm)

5. OLED is too expensive for me do we have a best BANG for BUCK option?

Would you be so kind and point me in the right direction this is what i have available in my store nearby:

Thank you and have a nice day :)

1) G-sync is NVidia only, Freesync is AMD but usually also works with NVidia. You should be find but investigate any monitor in more detail for compatibility before you buy it.

2) HDR is meant to make give colours more detail and difference between darker and brighter parts of the image. It can be used in gaming. Benefits are variable.

3) This article is a nice summary. Personally I prefer IPS but that's what it comes down to - personal choice.

4) You don't even need a 165 Hz display. 120 - 144 Hz is plenty, and in all honesty even say e.g. 90 Hz vs 120 Hz I'd want to see some proper double-blind tests done before I'd be convinced that somebody sees a practical difference.

5) OLED is expensive, so yes, buy something else.
