Thinking about getting an ROG strix 3060 ti, but unsure if a seasonic core gm (b-tier 80+ gold) 500w would be safe (paired with a 5600 non x), asus recommends a whopping 750w for the strix 3060 ti, if my psu is not able to suffice that model, i think im going for an evga ftw3 3060 ti instead and even then im still unsure if a decent 500w in general would be safe powering a 3060 ti

It appears according to nvidias website that for a plain 3060 they say the requirement is 550 watts. The TI version the requirement is 600 watts. So I’m either case, I’d suggest upgrading the power supply to another with a higher power output.

It appears the cheapest 3060ti on Newegg is about 500 dollars. I’d suggest to save a little more money to upgrade the power supply. The other option if you are willing to look at amd cards, you might look into the rx 6600, or the 6600xt. The 6600xt I think is closer to a 3060, but I saw one 6600xt for about $350. A plain 6600 could be found around the $300 mark. You could even look at the 6700xt, I saw one of those for $450 which gets you in the same performance range. But anyway that gives you some options so that you could upgrade the power supply and still get a new card. If you are set on the 3060ti, then I’d suggest to save up and get a unit that can output more power. Even though your unit is seasonic, power supplies will age and can’t put out the same amount of power as they get older. You don’t want to run the risk of frying your new card or a motherboard due to your power supply not being up to the job.

650w psu is the standard for an RTX 3060 Ti other than the few exceptions such as that Asus card that calls for a 750w psu. If you're in the US then here's a decent deal on a Phanteks 650w psu that's manufactured by Seasonic.
