The Intel 865pe or 875pe, depending on your budget and features wanted. Anandtech has a review of the new albatron 865pe board. Newegg sells a basic version of it for about $106. The abit and msi boards are getting alot of mixed reviews. New boards are being released every week. Asus should release an 865pe board soon. I would suggest you get the 2.4c (800 fsb) for about $198 and overclock it. It also has hyperthreading support.

At this moment the Asus 865pe (P4P800) beats ALL 865 and 875 main boards Why? It wasn't known at the articles I read this morning

The 875 board that they used was Intel's. It would have been more fair to compare the P4P800 with the P4C800.

It's not worth the money, wait few more months. You have AXP 2800+ (t-bred "B"), it has good clockspeed. Better than 3000+ in many tests

Do you really think you need that extra power? My suggestion is to save your money until later on, when Prescot & Athlon64 are release. I mean, can you honestly say that your current system is insufficient for you? I don't think so. Sure it's cool to always have the best and fastest system but sometimes it just doesn't make sense upgrading. If you really want to spend some money I would suggest upgrading your graphics card. Other than that, it simply does not worth the money.

Now if we suppose that you are a millionaire, then everything I wrote above is bullshit :lol: So, I believe that the best combination right now is:

Mobo = Asus P4P800 Deluxe
CPU = Pentium IV 3GHz 800MHz FSB
Memory = keep your current RAM

Who doesn't have a Burner? LITE ON 52X CD-RW, and just recently added the SONY DRU-500

Im thinking about changing in the winter, I was just asking about the chipset/mobo selection for the new p4 800mhz FSB cpu's cause my friend is going to build one, and i don't really know much about p4 chipsets.

Currently Sprigdale based mobos are a good deal for P4 systems. Sprigdale vs. Canterwood is not like i845PE vs. i850E. Sprigdale performs very close to Canterwood.

But you're buying in Winter.....then lots of things can change. AMD's Athlon 64 may be a winner or Prescott may redefine high-end performance, Intel may release a Canterwood revision that makes some difference with Springdale.

Ok, yeah your right alot of things can change, i was just asking for my friend, cause he's interested in building his system within the month. So i just wanted to know what he should go with if he choses the 800mhz fsb CPU line.

For high-end, AMD is not a choice at this moment

Yeah, Im kinda dissappointed in a way. I mean my system is still pretty goodz.. but the P4's are droping in price. I will wait and see how my friends performs. I probably aint building another monster for atleast 6-7 months
