[SOLVED] Thinking of upgrading to a 1440p monitor, but I am unsure how my computer will perform.

So my brother is looking to upgrade his monitor, and I offered to give him my Phillips 1080p 144hz monitor if I upgrade to 1440p. I have not been able to find any helpful information on whether or not my specs can handle a 1440p upgrade. If anyone knows a benchmark or can share their knowledgable opinion it would be much appreciated. I understand that I will most likely not max out any games 1440p but I am only curious if it is worth the upgrade at all with my current specs. Thanks.

My current specs:

MSI Gaming X 1660
Ryzen 5 2600x
ASUS ROG Strix B450-F
Ripjaws 16gb DDR4 3200
Rm650x
WD 1tb HDD

Solution
I've been running my 1440p 144Hz FreeSync monitor on an RX480 for the past 3 years.... GTX1660 is better than my GPU.
That said, a RX5600XT or RTX2060 would be the ideal entry level tier GPUs for 1440p gaming.

What frame rates you get depends on the game and quality settings. Variable refresh rate is a life saver.

I'd say go for it.
