This is a Stupid Question

I'm new to overclocking but with the purchase of my ASUS P8P67 DELUXE and my 2500K I thought I'd give it a whirl.

The first thing I did was just let ASUS run ther Autotune from ASUS SUITE II.

In my BIOS it says TARGET TURBO 4468MHZ but my computer only reads ~3.4GHZ in both the primary BIOS and Windows.

The Turbo Multiplier is set to 44 and Autotune set my BcLK to 103.00.

My stupid question is whether the computer is overclocked to 4.5 or not.

Does the target multiplier mean that the computer will go to 4.5 when needed?

Should it be running at 4.5 all the time to be actually overclocked to that?

There are no stupid questions try reading this guide to gain some understanding of whats going on, and where you may decide to go from where you presently are.

It will only throttle to 4.5ghz if the demand is needed. Try running it on Prime95, it's a free software for cpu stress test.
