Yes, another "which card should I buy" post, but at least I have narrowed it down to one model before asking for help! I'm building a gaming system based off of an MSI K7T266 Pro motherboard that was given to me. It will have 512MB DDR2100 RAM and an Athlon XP 2000+ CPU. I have decided on a 64MB TI4200, as it seems to offer the best performance for the money since I run mainly DX8.1 and older games.
Specifically, I was looking at the MSI or chaintech 8X 64MB cards available for around $80 on Pricewatch. Can I mildly overclock either of these brands, and what else do I need to look out for? There are slightly different model numbers for some of the cards, even within the same brand. The cheapest card listed seems to have everything, VGA/DVI/TV/8XAGP in a retail box, but it has "lite" in the model number and I don't want to end up with an underclocked card. I don't care about software included. Can someone recommend the "best buy" among the sub-$85 TI4200's? Thanks in advance!
