The original platformers or the later Duke Nukem 3D?

The latter didn't push the envelope as much as Doom originally did (compared to Wolfenstein 3D and the earlier Catacomb 3D). The Build engine did work around many of the limitations of the original flat maps using stacked sectors and bridge objects.

Got Lode Runner, one of my all time favorites - no flight sims other than wing commander which is a stretch to say the least. I look at the list and remember all the 70's games (played them), 90% of the 80's games played, slightly less than 50% of the 90's games and, well pretty much nothing on their lists since then.... hmmmm

what a load of crap list , ES 4 Oblivion REALLY ???? it was the shittiest game in the ES series ... WTF ?
e
AND NO MECHWARRIOR 2 MERCENARIES ? time sucks balls MW 2 Merc was the best damn simulation EVER

are they makign this lsit only for console and arcade.

[citation][nom]mazty[/nom]Other then replacing Oblivion with Morrowind, it's a damn good list I have to say.[/citation]
my thoughts on the replacment exactly Morrowind was by far the best game of the ES series, skyrim is close behind it , but well it still lacks the unique enviorment that morrowind offered. as well as the ease of magic use , obivloin out right slaughtered being a mage on pc , hated going to that damn menu screen every time i wanted to change spells , sky rim did a little better with dual wielding but still wizard play is menu broken.

is it really so hard to make a option to set spell scrolling to the mouse wheel like weapons?

[citation][nom]cats_paw[/nom]TIME writing a game list is like toms writing a cooking list.P.S. Mass effect came out in 2010?[/citation]

the first mas effect , came out in 2007 , stil think it should ahve made the list instead of ME 3 ... the guys at time are all f---ing stupid. this just goes to show how out of touch with any one specific industry time is . only one worst list i saw time do was the top 100 rock bands of all time . so terrible they even listed bands that WERE NOT ROCK bands. such as nsync

team fortress basically created the online fps. and its current incarnation is still one of the most popular games there is. counter strike......back in the day is was all about who had the best cheats, its only real contribution was creating an effort to control cheating online lol

"2000s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion"

Are you joking? oblivion made it but morrowind didn't? what a joke...

they added Counter strike to the 2000s list but if u check the URL it says "super-smash-bros-melee-2001" talk about fail...

Phantasy Star Online; probably my most played game of all time. I've burned thousands of hours over the years playing that game. Not a fan of PSO2, i still play Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst on private servers though :). When i heard that the dreamcast was going to die, the first thought that went through my head was "oh my god, no more PSO." Luckily for me it was ported to the xbox, gamecube, and the PC again :)

Metroid is on the list, and sure it's a good game, but it didn't stand up to the test of time as well as Super Metroid. And Zelda is certainly a classic, but Link To The Past has better gameplay. Also I saw the original Leisure Suit Larry, but LSL6 was fantastically superior. Well, at least they listed the firsts (the breakthroughs) in each series.

Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim---I think out of those three Oblivion is easily the weakest, so I'm not sure why it made the list and the others didn't. Maybe Skyrim is too new? Even if it were, that doesnt explain the superior Morrowind not making it. I also dont understand how only ME3 made it, when its generally regarded as the weakest of the series. Well, at least they acknowledged KOTOR's greatness. And like that guy above said, not including The Secret of Monkey Island is an absolute joke.

MW2 was the game I noticed missing, too. Probably had the most haunting musical score of any game I've ever played. The opening cut scene still gives me goosebumps

Missing a bunch:
70's - Computer Space, Empire
80's - Tron, 720, Gauntlet, Bard's Tale, Wasteland, Lemmings, Dungeon Master, Marble Madness, Paradriod
90's - Crusader, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, Crazy Taxi, Ocarna of Tme
00's - GTA San Andres
