[citation][nom]taiso[/nom]well i happily used unrestricted road runner for a few years.....in the US. i came to canada and surprise surprise! almost every internet provider has usage caps. and the ones that don't, use telecomm lines owned by the big ISPs like rogers, bell canada, etc. so in the end they get throttled out the a$$ and from what i've been hearing the last few standing ISPs with unlimited internet are either gonna get forced to start the cap system or pay for their customer's excessive usage (if the big guys consider it so). and the cap system is terrible. especially when they inflate your usage. one night i tested their so called usage 'monitoring' by taking a screen shot of my usage (that you can check on bell canada's site) and that night i did nothing but get on yahoo messenger. not bit torrent, no downloads, just IM. my usage spiked almost 3 gigs.....in less than 8 hours. and i've gone from a 20 gig, then to a 40 gig, and now im going to see if a 60 gig cap is enough. but with dishonest usage tracking i doubt it.[/citation]
Are you using a wireless router? (If so, I'd consider using a more secure crypt)
Also your cable modem will track solid facts in the usage department. Compare those results with those of the ISP's, and if there's discrepancy, contact a lawyer.
