To buy or not to buy?

First I would like to thank everyone for all the knowledge contained in these forums!

My question is regarding the abit kt7. I think I would really like this mobo because of the relatively cheap ide raid option. I would get a single ibm 75gxp and later upgrade to a second with raid 0.

However, I keep reading about the new ddr-sdram comming out soon. Does anyone know what this will mean in terms of t-bird future support for the kt133 chipset? e.g. will there be a 1.5 ghz socket a t-bird?

While I am impressed by the ddr benchmarks, I don't have to have the absolute top of the line. I just want something with some decent upgradability. I can wait a little while for the new mobo's (with ddr support) to come out but I am worried that if I get one of those, there will still be a lot of bugs to work out since they will be first generation.

Any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure that if you get the kt7-raid with one hard drive then get a second one for raid 0 later you will have to reformat and install the os from scratch.

Smart

I have the abit kt7-raid and it rocks!
The manual is very good to fallow.
The hardest part is the bios settings. The default setting worked good but you can tweek them to get awsome performance.
