I'm mysterious like that. :sol:

The hardware is nothing fancy. I'd love to upgrade but nothing is really a big step up...

Corsair 800d case
i5 750 @ 4.0 ghz
Gigabyte P55-UD3R
8 GB Gskill DD3
ATI 5850
Coolmaster Silent Pro Gold 800 watt PSU
360, 240 and 120 swiftech rads with Gentle typhoon AP-15s
Two MCP35x pumps
80 GB Intel X25-M SSD
750 GB Caviar Black

I appreciate the compliment, but I'm not sure my craftsmanship is up to the level of MDPC 😱 There's still some work I have to do on it...clean up the cabling and adjust the tube routing a bit. For example, the tube coming down into the luminous panel isn't completely flush due to the tubing pulling on it a bit, so I need to come up with a solution for that; it also bugs me it's a barb instead of a compression fitting like the rest (waiting on a compression to get here). I need to sleeve the motherboard header cables and the SATA cables look a little messy to me. 🙁 I also hate the blue motherboard and am looking to upgrade to Sandybridge for the sole purpose of my hatred for that blue.

I'll grab some more pictures tonight when I'm out of the office.

Shiny Rig or no, that there is one fine photo,
as for your header lines, (even if you sleeve) drill a hole behind the mobo, tuck them under the edge and feed through, then you only see from header to bottom of mobo
can't really think of much for the sata's except sleeve them together and do the same, although you'll see a couple of inches it'll look neater
and yes, have another vote for throwing it up on mdpc man,

really, that one pic with no explanation is DUMB..
said in a nice way of course..😀

first playa...
be careful and GOD speed when in Afghan from a veteran to an active member, good luck.
when are you deploying out.?
good heatsinks will run you less than $50 and some can be around $30 for decent quality.
at least you got a solid power supply even if from Best Buy.
and I have a Best Buy power supply in one of my units for the exact same reasons...😉

on power supply i aimed for something atleast certified since the rest at best buy weren't

and actually i'm back on emergency leave right now

RocketFish 900-watt modular 80+ Silver - on sale $59.99
I had a BestBuy gift card so it was free for me, so why not..?
fired right up and in BIOS checked the voltage and it didn't even waiver, stay constant from the start.
I have no issues from it.
who would have though a BestBuy Rocketfish could be 80+ Silver but it is.. :heink:

emergency leave.?!
everything OK.?

Very clean looking build 😱

can you go into some detail about how you setup the lighting?

Sure thing. The lighting basically works like this:

White LED strip is placed along the side of a piece of laser etched clear acrylic. Just a plain sheet of acrylic will not get you anywhere close to even diffusion.

White translucent acrylic is then placed over it

Unfortunately, I can't claim the idea as my own. I swiped it from murdermod

Unfortunately, he's pretty tight lipped about a product he sells / sold...so information was scarce. 😛

Thank you for this 😀

Amazing how much lighting you get from just a few leds and some acrylic!

Looks like you know what you are doing ^_^ congrats on the slick pc.

I like to pretend I do... :) and thank you!

again sorry guys

tried with phone but couldnt get it to upload.
i dont know how long threadsd last but i rang them and they said 3 weeks.

sorry guys but no pictures

This is a gallery, you need to post pictures with your build 😉

If it costed you $6K to build that system, I would like to know where you bought it from..

bought it from pcgear online.
but like i said couple of otherthings for my kids

Other, including myself, have uploaded updated pictures of our rigs. Feel free to add more pictures (I think 4 per post).

actually, 4 per rig, but each post can handle a max of 10 images

human brain will phase the the bezels out you would be amazed.
with the bezel adjustment feature it gets real smooth transitions..
BF3 jet-fighter is going to be wicked..

running heaven dx11 benchmark in 3840 x 1024 is visually stunning..

Love the set-up MAL. Only wish I had room for that set of rigs.

Hey guys,

I have finally gotten around to taking some pictures of my new build. The lighting isn't that great in my basement, but I will take some better shots once I get my new desk and in the daytime 😛. Don't judge my cable management... I tried lol. Specs are in my signature.

Actually you are 100% correct. In fact everyone's eyes actually do this everyday. There are in fact blood vessels that cover the back of the eye. We "should" see them, but our brains edit them out.

So yes the human brain will completely edit out the bezels while being used. As someone that plays in Eyefinity all the time I no longer notice them.

Also I will be running BF3 on my 5870 2GB Eyefinity6 Edition, and I'm not sure how well my FPS will do. Currently searching craigslist for a 2nd 5870 for $100.

Why don't we see the blood vessels in our eyes? It's because images stabilized on the retina fade. You can see this by staring at the center dot in this image - you have to get close and don't move your eyes

Nice setup ^_^ I like the case especially since I don't see many people with them and its got a nice big window 😀

Whats the other side of your case look like (where the cables are ran) maybe you could improve?

I'll post that one when I get home. The problem is that even though I have a semi-modular PSU, the wires are weird. There is an EPS cable that comes out the PSU which I have to tuck away and the Sata wires that came with the PSU have multiple connections, and I only have 1 HDD and 1 Drive. So I have to use 2 of them and the spare connectors on the wires are quite annoying lol. It is a work in progress 😛. Can I buy sata power cables (single connectors and use them on my PSU?

And yea, not a lot of people have this case. I like the window as well. Going to throw in some LEDs in the future. Thanks for the comments.

Yes, the top fan is an intake. The case uses some kind of positive air pressure. I know normally people use the top for exhaust. It also has a switch that makes it spineven faster if needed. My temps have been pretty good. I just OC my 2500K to 4.5 Ghz. Idle is around 35C and full load is about 60C.

Thanks for the comments. I'll work on the cable management 🙂

Sata adaptors are all over the place mate
http://www.satacables.com/html/molex-to-sata-power-15-pin-ada.html shop around modding shops to find a suitable one, or extend one like that using your modding skills :)
Heres a nice block I just found looking for someone elses problem
http://www.amazon.co.uk/SATA-to-Molex-Power-Adapter/dp/B000ZMCYQG

remember you can drill holes through the mobo tray inside the visible boundary and loop wires back under the mobo to hide them, be sensible and don't have a huge bunch though, it may catch/rub on a sharp pin behind and wear through causing a short,
I did read the review and wonder about the top fan, maybe altering the Hs alignment to use the fans flow into the Hs is an option, have to experiment to find out though 😛
you can tape your spare molex's flat to the wire and keep them between Mobo tray and sidepanel quite easily there, you have half an inch gap which is more than enough,
tape and cable ties will help
Mal's build, still loving that top pic man :)
