Isn't the RAM supposed to be in the same colour channels for dual channel to work?
Alsowhat temps is the the VGA cooler giving as i was under the impression open coolers worked a little less efficiently in the raven/fortress.

I ended up getting a backplate and a 9800gt as a physx card. I also knocked off a resistor on my card while installing the EK backplate... It requires a waterblock, and I used some nuts I found in my basement. I managed to reattach the resistor with some superglue, but it's way to small to solder...

Its built on a very tight budget for a gaming rig. Recycled case from 2006. Not a lot of room, I know. It was either recycle or give up my three-day vacation in Pittsburgh this month. Guess which won (hint: the vacation won).

But overall (ignoring PSU issues and having to RMA the mobo twice) I think it's doing pretty swell. :) Thinking about an Antec 900 gaming case after my little vacation.

Well I'm going into annoyed police lieutenant mode,

YOU HAVE 24 HOURS TO CLEAR THIS MESS UP OR I'LL EAT YOUR DAMN BADGE!!!!

Seriously, sort the cables out or there will be consek,

Little hard to do cable management in a case that doesn't facilitate cable management.

Also, there's nothing wrong with a stock CPU cooler if there is no overclocking being done.

@MarkusFox - Nice little system you have there, and welcome to the forum.

@Gotham's,
I'll link my Gf's build in a pos case with zero C.M. it can be interesting to work with limited options, its what breeds creativity,
Have to post in morning though as at work now.
And I wasn't bothered about stock Hs, thats not my pet peeve 🙂

@markusfox: Nothing terrible for working with what you got, heck I'm sure it runs just fine. Eventually you want to clean those cables up.. but if you are getting the antec 900 anyways you might as well wait right? :)
I remember my first rig was in the antec 900, when it first came out. Also had the q6600 when it was the first quad @ $1000 😀 boy am I happy things have changed in terms of value.

cable management with the Antec 300 Illusion is very difficult.. :fou:
especially with SLi and multiple HDD's
a modular power supply doesn't really help when you have all connections in play..

looking for camera, this phone isn't going to get it..
It is terribly difficult in the Antec 300 Illusion. This is the best I could do- http://s1105.photobucket.com/albums/h346/mjmjpfaff/?action=view&current=IMG_6936.jpg
It must look worse than it actually is but no wires are impeding airflow whatsoever.

Well that is another weak point from the Antec 300 Illusion it doesn't have any holes on the bottom for airflow for the PSU so you have to face the fan upward into the case...

The HDD is actually in a better position for cable management as well I'll post some more pics of the stuffed wires in a bit.
