I haven't even turned up my 9900K yet, all I did was enable MCE so it's running at 5 GHz on all cores.

Will mess around with it one day I suppose, not that I really need to however. 😀

And it's pulling 180W now in testing. :ouch:

I've not really sat down and tried to get the most out of it, also it runs fairly hot due to the voltage I need to make it go 5Ghz. (I have had pretty bad luck with processors since bloomfield) Memory is more or less on default XMP profile. About the only thing I have done is the cache running at 4.5Ghz instead of 4.2Ghz. More or less does what I want it to do. I still regret not buying an i7-4790k to replace my not great i7-4770k, if I had I would probably still have that.

Same as mine when I tested my 7700K, to get 5 GHz I had to push the VCORE up a lot so it was running warmer than I wanted it to. I ran mine at 4.8 GHz normally though.

I think the 8086K and the high binned 8700K's are much better CPU's than the 7700K was.

The 9900K is crazy, but not a big over clocker at reasonable VCORE, but very powerful.

The 9700K is the big over clocker.

I've had my fair share of luck with Westmere, as you can see int he table. But I've had the best luck with Haswell, which is why I want an E5 1650 v3. Haswell's my favorite gen and getting a 5930K for half off with ECC support would be awesome. But I'd need X99 for that.

Ouch, my E5 1650 v2 has a TDP of 130W, I'm OC'd by 84% and I'm still not reaching that much power. Most I've seen was 148w during a stream I was doing, although I think this CPU could draw 260w if it wanted 😉

That about what my 8086K used, about 140W at 5 GHz MCE, 6 core /12 Thread so that's inline.

The 9900K is an 8 core/ 16 thread so 180W really isn't that much.

Still haven't fixed it yet?

I swear I updated the original post. Well, I'll do that now

I'm gonna be ordering a 15-core CPU off eBay fairly soon. Also, in regards to my score. +100Mhz got me another 200-ish points.
