Mech Warrior - Still to this day one of my favorite PC gaming experiences was this series. For the life of me, I can't figure out how this hasn't come back.
(Sorry if someone already said this!)

I would love to see Bards Tale rebooted to a Skyrim or larger open world game. Limited as the original was by running on a Commodore 64 I and friends spent may hours playing it

So many Star Wars games... Star Wars itself does not need a reboot, there's already too many, but the original PC Rogue Squadron was awesome. I'd love to see that rebooted without straying too far from the original.

Speaking about the Commodore 64, what about Last Ninja?

Star Control 2 has "The Ur-Quan Masters" for its reboot.

I would like to see the following rebooted:

Warcraft
CnC (Both Red alert and the regular)
X-wing
X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy Series (1-6) brought up to current gen graphics but keep the jRPG style

Yeah, forgot to give SimCity some love. I really , really loved Sim City 2000 (have the GOG version). Sim City 3000 was a decent version as well...but after that, it's just gone downhill.

Nope, don't think anyone mentioned this one. *sigh* So many game genres that I've played or continue to play over the years, which (apparently like most of us here) makes it hard to pick. "There can be only one"? Only if you add "per genre" to that, LOL.

Although there's already MWO (which is essentially a reboot of MW3 & 4), & I've heard some group is working on a separate version that's "more faithful" to the tabletop RPG (i.e. like MW2).

In that vein, though, I have to add in the MechCommander series. It introduced the "slot" system used in MW3 & 4, but you got to control multiple lances of 'Mechs (up to an entire company of 12), & you could issue commands either individually or to the lances. *sigh* Adulthood sucks, too little time to spend playing games.

if you haven't, check out the free "pre-alpha" demo on Steam. it's already fun again but you can tell it's very early development.

you mean both games separately or a combination of the two? Daggerfall(1996) was set in a totally different area than Morrowind(2002) so it could be a cool idea traveling to the new maps like the later DLC for Skyrim. though i would definitely leave out any multiplayer aspects.

Wow, thanks for that link. I did not know they were working on this. I enjoyed the original Descent games, but the Freespace series is what really stood out.

Age of Empires...as a "4th gen" RTS
1000s of units (infantry, archers, cavalry, siege) acting as a cohesive unit. Sign me up

I couldn't possibly count the hours I put into Red Alert and Tiberian Sun. I've bought the entire series, but I can honestly say that the two I've mentioned were the only ones I played like a zombie.

I would pay top dollar to have this remastered for the PC. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would make time to play through it again.

Giants! Anyone play that from the early 2000s? So much fun. That and Command & Conquer. So many hours wasted at LAN Parties.

So many games to choose from but being 54, I always go back to my Comodore 64 days and Infocom games. And the most fun and nostalgic of course is Zork. They made some follow up games years ago but a full reboot of the Zork would be my choice. To see the house with the mailbox outside.......

I really wanted MWO to be the answer I was looking for, but there are some problems.
-"Free" to Play - I worry about putting any money into the game because I know it will be designed to make me want to put in more. This format is fine for certain games, but I don't want to wait 2 years or put in obscene amounts of money to be able to build a big stable of mechs. I wish this was an up front purchase with all content available.
-Team Play Only - This means your ability to advance and get more stuff is directly dependent on getting on good teams that are randomly generated. Not only that, I actually like the single player missions in the old versions. Plus, that let's you unlock or acquire goods based on your own play (see above).
-I don't think this version did much to move the series forward. This game seemed somehow like a console to me, which is a big departure from the past. Back in the day, you new you were on a computer when playing MW4 as the experience was completely different (and better) than anything you got on a console. MWO seems like it should be on my PS4. It seems like there wasn't a lot time/money spent to really push hardware to its boundaries and redefine the series, like jumping from 1 to 2, or 2 to 3. Like you said, its basically a dressed up version of 3&4 minus single player content and a fixed price tag.

Ultimately, this game missed the mark for me. I am looking for a true reboot of the old series. A remake, or heaven forbid, MW5 wouldn't be bad either! :)

Thumbs up for this one.. loved that game !!!

Perhaps fortunately, I hadn't had a chance to try MWO yet. Probably because of the "online" aspect. Yes, I play online a lot (tend to haunt Clan POQ's Halo servers a bit), but I also like having a single-player campaign. Especially with RTS & FPS games, a well-written single-player campaign is what attracts me to a game in the first place. Online can sometimes become very subjective, as it ends up being "who can manage to jump up & run up the light ropes on Gephyrophobia so that the Blue Team zombies have no chance of reaching them before being shot", or "who has the warp points on the modded Blood Gulch map so that they can get the flag back to their base before you've managed to spawn back in", or "who's spent lots of cash/time to upgrade to the top-tier weapons in BF4 while you're still stuck with only a few weapon options" when you play online, but playing in a campaign not only gives a fixed benchmark that you can measure your success in (i.e. "I took X hours to beat the StarCraft II campaign"), but puts everyone on a level playing field for measuring purposes.

Command & Conquer Generals needs a serious reboot. I loved the game and would be honestly satisfied with the upgraded graphics and engine, that does not freeze all the time. Keep it as it was, just seriously upgrade it!

Agreed! I was very excited when EA announced the Free to Play Generals in 2014, and then simply failed to deliver. I wish they can reconsider it.

I would love to see a modern reboot of Black and White.

The idea of a game where your direct actions are limited, but without all of the frustrating bugs of the original, would be an interesting world to play around in.
