Tom's Ranting

I've visited Tom's Hardware quite regularly for quite some time now. I've always thought it has useful information and it's helped me make quite a few decisions on purchases, and helped me with some technical issues as well.

However, ever since the whole scuffle between Tom and Intel regarding the 1.1GHz processor errors, I think Tom has been a little too vocal in his opinions towards Intel. He takes every opportunity to say what a crappy company they are. Which may be very true... But it gets quite annoying after seeing every article regarding an Intel related product have a sucker punch thrown in about Intel's poor judgement, etc. Just talk about the issue at hand, and stop putting up pics of things like P4 CPUs with huge slashes through them, etc. It doesn't add any useful information and it's getting tiring.

Let me restate that I really like this site a lot, but the opinions of Tom should not interfere with the quality of the reviews he posts.

I'm not one for the sensless bashing of a product, but i think if anything, it's reviews like Tom's that are going to get intel to realize that they need to get their act together if they want to regain some of their lost success.

As long as you back your bashing with facts, as Tom has done relentless bashing is fine. Its the same as you bashing your friends football team cause his team lost and yours won. Now why did that team lose cause the other team was better.

I agree that the issue with the P3 1.13 he was very vocal about intels bad practice, but not without good reason. since then I don't think that he has been that unfair with his comments about intel.. but that is just my opinion....
