I'm entered, but with my poor luck I'll win at the lowest tier and just win the Tom's Hardware hammer..... (Which BTW - wouldn't really be that shabby!)

Hey there all!

Let's keep the discussion on topic, and not get into the weeds of the legal restrictions. We've explained all in the previous posts on "Why?" and have pretty much been definitive on the matter. Don't forget, as standard practice, we won't stand for any personal attacks or unfounded accusations in civil threads. If you have any questions about the legal issues revolving around the contest itself, please feel free to reach out to me directly at jpishgar@purch.com. Otherwise, I ask everyone to stay on topic with discussion focused on the contest and prizes themselves.

Thanks all! And good luck!

Yey a way to go...anoter USA contest only. I agree with the other readers from around the globe, it is time to change that policy. It is also ignorant of you "to forget" from where you have 2M readers.
This article reminded me of why I rarely visit Tom's site nowadays...

Thanks T. I don't see it that way, but IANAL, especially an American lawyer.

Sorry, thanks Joe.

Nice reply +2

Toms is didivded by language.

So, English mainly applies to North/America, and the UK. But, as EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER HAS SAID -

There is legal constraints. International legal documents do get expensive. As they have said, if you want to pay for the legal part of it, go ahead. And maybe they will ship it internationally. ALso, the staff has said there would be non-item giveaways such as game-codes/steam cards as those don't require legal documents.

So before you become salty, know the website is divided by language, not region. I.E: German website,, etc.

Hey all you blokes and gals, chill. Research international sweepstakes registration laws, country, by country. It is an astounding amount of research. It is expensive, not for one country or a handful. No, but for everyone/where? Remember TomsHardware is basically F2P/Use content. They get paid salaries based off of adds for hardware they may find complete crap. It is solid work, on wildly fluctuating profits margins. Give them a break. This hardware is donated by the companies who pay them percentages based off of sales. It is not a guaranteed cash flow, merely highly likely.

If you need to participate in an international sweepstakes, go to;
https://www.gamingtribe.com/
This site is funded, and promoted by the hardware manufacturers listed on the website.
Your odds are, at the time of this writing;
1,841,359 to +1.
Based on the current user registry in addition to yours.
Have fun, be cool. Cheers!

Re: International Entrants.
Could TH not simply affiliate with other countries via a local agent, Overclockers.co.uk or Ebuyer for example? Th supply the prizes and let the local affiliate sort out the local legal stuff as they all have to with their own competitions! I genuinely feel that it is a cop out as teh EU is a single entity for competitions etc
