I want to keep the motherboard/cpu/ram combo but if anyone can trim some fat it would be appreciated. i'd like either more bang for my bucks or a cheaper bang.

Do you really need that i7? You said you want that combo, just making sure you really need it. Even a cheaper i7 would be a good idea. Might not be 6C/12T and only 4C/8T, but it can shave off $100. Cheaper ram is next on my list. 16GBs of DDR3-2400? 1866/2100 should be cheaper. And if this is a gaming rig then 8GBs is still fine. And now the GPUs....

I wasn't sure what this was for, but if you have 3GPUs then you are either building a render farm (and they might make sense) or you are building a gaming machine. Then you should get only two of them, and you should drop the CPU down to the i5 level. Base i7 like I mentioned above. You don't need that much CPU power for gaming. I'm not sure what card Nvidia has around $500 each so that you are still spending about the same, but seeing as these are only the GTX770, I would get two 290s or two 290X cards. I don't know if you can get two 780TIs, but two 780s and pocket the difference is a good idea as well.

I didn't even look at the board, but the OP might want to check for 3 way SLI compatibility before buying. (Not that I would ever go over 2 way CF/SLI.)

The 5820 is locked to 28 pci-e lanes on the controller. Only the other haswell-e CPUs have the full 40 lane...

Also trust me on this get a 240GB ssd

windows plus 3 games and you are running out of space. its really not much more for 240 vs 128

the ssd is just for the os. i got a 3TB hard drive for storage. How come crossfire can only use 4 gigs?

Fair enough but it makes for slow loading which sucks and for 20 dollars more you can double the ssd storage.

CF/SLI both gpu's act as one and as such they share the same memory from only one of the cards. On that note all the dual gpu cards are the same, they could have 8GB of memory only 4 is used as it is 4GB per gpu.

Only change I would, for sure make, would be the power supply, to a 1000w Rosewill Capstone. It costs less and is a better PSU. @ 800w, with a system rated @755, you are cutting it a bit too close. You attempt any overclock, and you might just go over that 800w mark.

It will be faster using 4 sticks than two despite the speed of the ram. The only other option is to get 32 gigs and that is overkill for everything but a serious workstation.

I prefer at least a 100w buffer, or more, for overclocking. Also, as power supplies age, they do lose a bit of their max output. 45w is a pretty small buffer. Capstone series PSU's are top notch also.
