my toolbar /taskbar has moved from horizontaly on the bottom of my
screen to vertically on the right hand side of the screen. How did this
happen and how do i get it back to the bottom horizontal position! could
a virus cause this also ? ta x

You have more than likely accidentally got it to that position. Click on the
taskbar (the bit between the start button and the clock) and, holding the
right mouse button down drag the taskbar back to the bottom of the window.
It is a simple process of drag and drop.

And once moved right click on an unused area within the toolbar and make
sure 'Lock Toolbar' is checked.
