[citation][nom]master_chen[/nom]Of course. It is actually worth even more than that, IMHO. I'd buy it even if it got 40$ price, because that would be it's actual balance on price per quality and content it affords.Simply putting: right now, when you pay 20$ for one copy of Torchlight II, you get at least 150% of quality and content for that money....[/citation]
I still love torchlight 2, but it's not THAT marvelous. It's worth the asking price for sure, but it does have its share of bugs. Just a few I've noticed today for instance:
1) When running from the beginning of the game to the Enclave, you can't shiftclick items from the shared chest - you'll have to relog or something to fix it.
2) When you open a portal near a waypoint, it'll spawn a portal on the waypoint as well.
3) the runic games homepage redirects directly to a page that sells TL2. When you're there you can only go to the support pages, which'll give you forum and kb access and nothing more. If you click the links back to runic from there you'll end up back at the buying page. So if you want to know what the latest 160mb patch does, you're out of luck. You can't even register an account without having to start the game and click the manage account button from ingame (means you can't do multiplayer until you figure that out, and the kb article doesn't mention where to find the bolded links it mentions).
Edit:
4) I forgot to mention that cloud support (steam) seems to be bugged - at least for me. It only synced one character yesterday, and while it said it failed to sync when starting it at home it still had synced it and the stash. But it fails syncing all the time. *
5) Also the game client is prone to crashing if your network connection is not stable whilst playing multiplayer, and even when it's stable it's possible that you get an 'Out of memory' message box prompted upon which the game shuts down when hitting the OK button. Almost makes me wonder if leftover 3DO staff coded the game.

In short - it's not perfect, it's merely great fun.

* might have something to do with me 'duping' and memory hacking a little bit, but it's unlikely unless I've misunderstood how steam cloud works.

I never said it's "Marvelous" or "Perfect". It's 150%, man. Not 200%.
I'd only deem the game a "Perfection in every way" if the "price to quality and content"-percentage gets at least to the point of 200%.
Torchlight II has it's flaws (denying this would be simply stupid), but those flaws are so minimalistic that they don't ruin any gaming experience at all, in every aspect of it whatsoever.

There are only hundred (or so) games out there, to which I gave my personal "200% - Perfection" during the time being a gamer.
And I play video games regularly since 1987 (and judge them on a professional critic term since 1992).
Torchlight II definitely ain't one of those, but it's VERY close to being such kind of a video game title....maybe Torchlight III? Who knows, we'll see in the future.

P.S. If you're wondering which games received the "200%" from me as a video game critic, I'll name just a few (in a non-alphabetical order):
Tekken 3, Silent Hill, Snatcher, "X - Beyond The Frontier", Clock Tower, Little Big Adventure, Phantasy Star II, System Shock, Full Throttle, Sonic CD, Xenogears, Shadow Hearts, Wasteland, "Earth Worm Jim", "Garou Densetsu: Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 - The New Challengers", Contra Hard Corps, "BIOHAZARD 2 - DualShock Edition", The Longest Journey, Unreal...these are only a few.

Open up Toddy! Of all those games I only remember Full Throttle as being really good (if we disregard Unreal being incredibly unstable, maybe that too), but most of the others are games I've just tried and meeh, it's okay. Haven't tried all you mentioned though. Anyhow I'd want to add Giana sisters and heroes of might and magic 3 to the list if it was mine - was was wrong with those?

Then, by most of the time, you just can't define a "perfect" video game when you play one, but I won't tell for sure until I'll personally see the library of titles that you usually play.
"To each his own", I guess. And if you're wondering: I do have "Heroes of Might & Magic III Complete" as one of my "200%" titles ("Heroes of Might & Magic II Gold" being at 110%).

steam community seems down at the moment, but when it's up you can go ahead and look at my library of games I play these days. They don't include old stuff like Ascendancy I sometimes pass the time with, but mostly I play what I have on steam.

This game is waste of money. Yeah, you heard me right. I paid $60 for D3 and played it for about 120 hours. That's only 50c per hour. This game is only $20, true. But I played about 5 hours so far and I just can't force myself to continue - the levels are too forgetable, the mechanics of game play is too simplified over D3 (I play embermage), the sidequests get old and monotonous after 50th time. I just can't play it anymore, so in a matter of money per hour this game is a total waste - BE AWARE.

OK, I was wandering around walmart when I saw a copy of D3. I wasn't planning on paying $60 since I just got GW2. So I decided to take the activation key. In other words, I didn't pay for D3. The game looks nice and all I played and played until I got to lvl 26. My internet went out. But, I was playing an offline game... I tried to log back in. I need internet to play an offline game. I haven't touched the game since then. I might go back when PvP comes out but I doubt it. I'm definitely gonna get TL2 as I enjoyed playing the first game.

Why do people call Diablo 3 junk?

It isn't perfect (yet), but it still one of the greatest games out there, and played by hundreds of thousands of people who love it, including me.

Torchlight 2 will be forgotten, whereas Diablo 3 will continue to get better.

No doubt about which game has a future.

Edit: And Civilization 5 is the greatest simulation/4x game ever made.

I want to spit in the face of those whose tendency it is to communistically hate on big, successful franchises.

You are a piece of sh*t thief.

TL2 > D3 and it's not even close. Glad to say I uninstalled D3 a couple months ago and my pc is now completely Blizzard free.

TL2 has much better socialization; in D3 noone plays in teams, because the game is too hard then. After playing D3 for some time (all classes up to level 60), TL2 was a charm - I finally played with other people.
D3 is a single player game that fores you to play online

WAAA!!! WAAA!!!

I have to play online!!!

WAAA!!!

I am a piece of **** communist that hates big corporations like Blizzard!!!

WAA!!!

No skill point allocations!!!

WAA!!!

I am entitled!!!

WAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw about all of the differences and similarities and PC Gamer, this article just confirms my personal experience, sorry Diablo 3 but I maybe leaving you.

[citation][nom]robochump[/nom]D3 user review got bashed by online gaming requirement and all the nerdy QQ over it. I will def give TL2 a chance and go from there but it seems like the TL2 fans go out of their way to bash D3.[/citation]

That's because we were all so excited for Diablo 3 until we finally played it. Thankfully, TL2 swooped in and saved us from Blizzard's letdown of a game. I've been playing TL2 for a day now and I've already had more fun playing it than I did Diablo 3. Luckily for us there are still game developers that care more about making a good game than lining their wallets.

After I played TL2, I almost completely forgot about Diablo 3. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about it and how it is a much better game, and I definitely wont forget about it.

I cashed out all my gold in D3 and bought Torchlight 2. Im a happpy happppy man ever since.
