Question Toshiba Satellite won't boot after installing Avast

I installed Avast free antivirus today and now Windows 7 craps out. The splash screen blinks a few times before showing BSOD info. I can't even get the laptop to boot in Safe Mode. I need to uninstall Avast but can't even get to a command prompt. Please help! Thanks!!

Although you haven't mentioned the model for your Toshiba laptop, I'm assuming that the laptop was working on an HDD...? If so, that's probably what's stopping you from booting up to OS GUI
