If you live near a microcenter you can get the i7 920 for $200 + tax.
On newegg, the combo deal (PSU/Case), the video card, and the Bluray burner are no longer available.
I would ditch Vista and as the Windows 7 Release Date is 10/22/09.
If you like your keyboard there should be nothing wrong with a PS/2 to USB adapter.
Also, you have 2TB of internal storage so if you ever get over 1TB you cannot back up all of your data without major compression or deleting files. (highly doubt that you will reach >1TB though)
If you wanted a 1TB for backup, I would get an external drive with ESATA support or just buy a hard drive and put it in an ESATA enclosure. ESATA is faster than USB and will result in faster backups.

It's a good list. If you want a "future-proof" computer then I would go for it.
As for your last question, your motherboard should come with SATA cables to connect your harddrives and your Bluray burner.
If you were looking for an alternative to the WD Black
I'd use this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185

A microcenter as in Staples? Office Depot? We have both here in town where I live. Also, have RadioShack. Do they have computer parts?

I figured the PSU/case deal was over as it has been months since it was first introduced. Haha

The Bluray and card are no longer available? The links to NewEgg are still good. Can they not be ordered through them anymore?

I figure I'll just hold out for Windows 7 rather than Vista.

I read review after review after review that a PS/2 to USB adapter was the pits. Lag, burned up stuff, inoperable, etc. etc. Hey, it's just $10, anyhow.

I currently have a 1TB Western Digital external drive. I figured I'd just get a matching one since I have had zero issues with this one I've used daily for almost a year and for asthetics. By the way, I've got roughly 600 GB on it! 😀

I'm feelin' great about this build. I tore my first functional computer down (removed everything including motherboard) tonight in class, rebuilt it, it worked, nothing caught fire, and did it first out of the whole class. 😀 :hello: :na:

THANKS SO MUCH FOR REPLYING! Oh, and for taking the time, obviously, to re-read this whole thread or at least the majority of it. lol

Oh, never even heard of a Microcenter. There might be one in the City. I go there fairly often. I'll look into it.

Duh! I didn't see the "Deactivated Item" staring me in the face. Very strange. Where's the next best place to order those items for a similar price? Directly from the manufacturer's website raises cost quite a bit don't it?

Thanks again
