Question Touchpad/mouse issue HP 255 G8

Hey guys. Hope that there is someone somewhere that has encountered this type of issue. I'll try to describe it as best I can. The main issue is that physical buttons on touchpad don't respond. Moving the cursor works without issue. However tapping the touchpad also doesn't work as far as "mouse clicks". So physical buttons and tapping the touchpand don't respond. The other issue is when I connect mouse, it works for like 80% of the time. And sometimes it happens that click on the mouse sometimes stop responding (both right and left). I did fresh reinstall of windows, so it's not the driver issue. The only thing I can think of is either hardware issue (which makes sense for touchpad, but not for mouse), and other is something BIOS related or some sort of virus which persists despite windows reinstalation
