Hello all,

I am having a small problem with the TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless N PCI Adapter that I've bought a few days ago. Whenever I insert it into one of my mobo's (ASUS M5A88-V EVO) PCI slot, the TPU LED starts flashing and my computer doesn't start up, or simply the power button flashes intermittently.

TP-Link Tech support's amazing solution to this problem has been "Try it in a different computer or different motherboard" which doesn't really help me since 1) All the other computers in my house are off the shelf and I don't really want to open them up to test a $30 part and 2) Considering it's a 3 month old build, I'm not looking to replace it.

Any suggestions?

check your mb guild to see what irq the pci slots are using could be locking up the mb due to the new card and the video cards got forced to the same irq. if the mb has a on board network card try turning off to see if there an issue with two of them trying to run at the same time. used to happend with the older on board and creative labs sound cards. see page 2-14 for irq and shared device on your mb. you may need to turn off a com port or printer port to free up and irq for the card if it wont share.
