I'm thinking of replacing my HDD with SSD. Can I first transfer my game files from old HDD to my C: drive and then install new SSD and after that copy the game files from C: drive to my new SSD?

Will my game works as usual by doing like this or I need to do other process? If I need to, how do I do it?

Thank you!

Only steam or other platforms used?
for steam:

if not that much different games are already downloaded and installed, this can be made to move

EDIT:
That´s the safest way.

Another way would be to just move the game location folder/library completely by the windows explorer to a different location. Steam usually finds this as well if this location was changed to the default game folder location before in the steam app. If all games are moved, click on the game in steam and it´ll verify the files on the new location as well and start the game.
