I managed to get all three *SLAYS* on one weapon.

n) a Rapier of *Slays* (1d6) (+14,+6)
It is especially deadly against dragons, demons, and undead.
It gives you 5 attacks per turn.

It's a shame it's a rapier. It's a shame the comp character uses
melee weapon for powers, not damage. It's a shame my pack is too
full and it won't even make it to a store.

Do you mean that?? Since when? In many variants all demons are evil and
all undead are evil, but I never knew that demon=undead.

Would have been great on a mace of disruption.....

Now that I think about it, you really only need *slay* dragons and *slay*
undead, since all demons are undead.

The current comp has me particularly attentive to slays.
You are mistaken. But now you set me off.

It's not even true that all demons are demons! I was fighting Pazazu,
and got the message about summoning high demons, and suddenly I was
fighting Azathoth. But my slay demon attacks were ineffectual. The
silly U that is Azathoth is not a demon. I think you should either
add the demon flag, or change the U to an A, or change the demon
summoning code to check for the demon flag rather than the letter.

While I am complaining about such things, I must also complain that
Evil Iggy isn't evil. That's just wrong. He is Neutral Iggy.

In my personal copy of NPP I'm going to change his name to Neutral
Iggy, because it's just too funny to miss.

He's much maligned and misunderstood, and so people *call* him Evil.

I did, until I realized I was completely wrong. :)

Never. Sorry all.

In Vanilla and NPP, the bronze golem is a non-evil demon (also the diamond golem
in NPP).

In Vanilla and NPP, the one exception is the bone golem, which is a non-evil
undead. Should I consider these bug?

Actually, there is no demon marked as undead. Again, sorry all.

That sounds familiar.

Oh yeah. I'm much maligned and misunderstood, and people call me evil,
too. :p

I added a check for the demon flag. I don't know what exactly to do with
Azathoth. It is not a Maia/Ainur, so I don't want to use "A". It is an
Lovecraft entity that doesn't quite fit anywhere. "N" isn't unsed for monsters,
maybe I could use that.

I guess he should have the evil flag then, shouldn't he? :)

I checked the original Moria source code (which made me truely appreciate how
much Ben Harrison cleaned up the Angband source), just to be sure he had the
right flags. It even took me a while to find a copy of the Moria source, since
the main site was down (at least it was 5 minutes ago). The Moria Newsgroup is
dead too. It only one or two posts a month. Maybe someday I will make a Moria
module for NPP. It should be too hard to strip down the Angband code to be like
Moria. With 10 years of UI updates and a legible source code, it could probably
generate some interest.

Sounds like it belongs filed under "D". For "Delete".

Unless you've got a lot of Lovecraftean entities, enough to warrant
their own category, demon is as good a place as any to keep him.

Another option would be 'j'. (Azathoth is, for all intents and
purposes, an amorphous mass.)

MoriaAngband is one of those things that I keep thinking I should do,
but never get around to.

Golems by nature should probably be neutral. But being an animated
lifeless pile of bone probably qualifies as undead.

I'd guess the bronze and diamond golems are demons mainly because
there isn't some kind of "construct" classification, at least none
other than "golem" itself.

I'm not following this. Why on earth would you represent bronze and
diamond golems with anything other than 'g' ???
