Triple channel support

Hi all,

I have:

Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor

GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

I want to buy Corsair Vengeance 12 GB ( 3 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) 240-Pin DDR3 Memory Kit for Intel Core i7 SDRAM CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9.

I know the Processor and motherboard support tripple channel but the processor claims to support only 1066 not 1600. Motherboard says DDR3 2200/1333/1066/800.

Will the triple channel still work just not at 1600 but rather 1066?

You should be able to run that RAM at stock settings on your board. It doesn't list support for 1600, but I've never seen a board that will do 2200 but not 1600.
