Question Trying to Migrate OS from HDD to M.2 (Except installed softwares)

I just bought Patriot Scorch m.2 Internal SSD with the capacity of 128GB. I want to clone my OS from my old HDD to it. my problem is that the OS size together with program files is 271 GB. it is too big and the m.2 has only 128GB. my plan is to clone the OS only and the Installed softwares will stay in the HDD. Is that even possible? if it is please help. THANKS ALOT!

Yes sir.. actually my old HDD is 1TB but it is divided into 2 partitions., the drive c is where my os is and drive D is just my backup files and games.

But is that partition only the OS? If the partition has the OS and the programs you don't want to copy over, then you can't do what you want to do.

No sir. That 1 partition has OS and other softwares installed in C: directory.
