Turning on S-Video Output

Hi,

I use an nVidia GeForce 3 Ti 200 AGP video card on one of my WinXP-Pro
machines. It comes with an S-Video socket besides the standard VGA
connector. I haven't used the S-Video socket for a while.

Now that output does not work. I tried different driver versions for the
card including the original (dating to mid-2001, I think) of nVidia drivers
from their archive, but cannot get this output to work which I need for a
little project I am working on.

I checked Device Manager and Device Properties and also clicked on Detect
Displays in Display properties for this device. Nothing worked.

The card itself has no jumpers to address this issue. And I simply cannot
remember the card's OEM manufacturer (if there was any), to find if they
might have any solution. The device works fine otherwise, BTW, on the
installed VGA set-up.

Any light on this would be much appreciated. I just wanted to explore the
issue before spending on a new suitably equipped card.

I think to be able to detect available diplays,
(VGA, s-video out, etc) you need a device to
be plugged in.. If I don't connect my s-video on
my TV then I'm not able to detect s-video out
in nvidia control panel...

Hi,

Thanks for the input.

Actually the unit has been plugged in - in fact into different devices to
check it out : VCR, TV, Camcorder (input mode).

Regards.

Hi,

I was able to get the S-Video output working!

The latest nVidia 61_77 drivers were reinstalled and the Media Center tray
option was utilized to enable control of the TV output even if the device
connected to it is not detected. I did not notice this utility earlier even
though I had gone through its tab!

Thanks to a suggestion sent to my email address.

Regards and thanks for all the responses.
