I don't have much time to do the research because I'm a very busy person. So, apologies if this is a commonly solved issue. My screen goes blank for about 1 second when I hover my mouse pointer over youtube video thumbnails and other similar website video thumbnails. Not every video thumbnail. Just about 1/3 of them. And it does it every time I close my internet browser (chrome).

I've tried to research it when I can and all I get is answers about refresh rates. I changed to every refresh rate available and tested it, but the problem continues. I checked everything that gets updates and everything is currently up to date. Still it continues. It only started with my current monitor and I've been just putting up with it for about a year. So, it makes sense that it has something to do with the monitor itself.

It's technically a TV and not specifically a computer monitor, but all my past monitors were also TVs and they had no issue. It's even the same brand as some past TV monitors that had no issues. I know it has nothing to do with my PC components or the settings. It only has to do with the TV monitor since I never had the issue with any other and it only started with this current TV monitor. What detail am I missing?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU details and disk drive(s) information. Make, model, specs, etc..

TV's: make, model,specs?

Things you can do:

1) Look in Reliability History/Monitor for any error codes, warnings, or even informational events that may be being captured when the screen goes blank. (There are other tools that can be used but Reliability History/Monitor is very end user friendly and the timeline format can prove revealing. So start with that.) Any given errors can be clicked to obtain details. The details may or may not be helpfu.

2) Use Task Manager and Resource Monitor to observe system performance. Use both tools but only one tool at a time.

Open the tool window and drag to one side - leave the tool window open and viewable. Do nothing other than simply watch what the system is doing. Let the system stablize. If it does.....

Then open some YouTube videos as you normally do and specifically those videos that do not cause the screen to blank.

Next open some YouTube vides as you normally do and those videos especially any that cause the screen to blank,

Determine what changes or happens to system performance when the screen blanks,

Requires a bit of time and effort. Just be observant and methodical.
