Me and my brother have two PCs at home that are hard wired through ethernet and when trying to play Modern Warfare together one of us gets a connection server error and cannot even access the games servers (usually him). When I disconnect my ethernet cable from my PC, he can get into his game no problem with no server errors. UPNP on the router is enabled. I don't understand why this would be an issue. Someone please help.

thanks

I know historically this has been a issue mostly for console based games. It is all related to the game using fixed ports to communicate. The first problem was the port forwarding which they made better with UPnP. The other problem is/was that if you have 2 game consoles and the game requires the user machine be on port 1234 then only 1 machine can have that port. If the game is really stupid it assume all users using the same IP address are the same machine. There really is nothing you can do to fix this unless the game has options to change the ports you use.
