I have a Tyan Thunder K8S Pro (S2882) mainboard. After installing CPU (AMD Opteron 252) x2, RAM and power supply, i wanted to see if the is good. So i turned the power on and then i get a constant sirenlike beep and the machine doesn't boot up. I wasn't able to find any info on what that beep code exactly means. I was wondering if any of you guys know anything about what the beep code means, or what the most likely meaning is.
If I take out the second CPU, it will boot to where it starts checking the ram, but then it hangs. I've got 4GB PC2100 DDR ECC Reg installed in the 2 blue slots for the first CPU. I have also removed the battery and removed power to clear the CMOS. I also tried installing 2 sticks of the same ram into the blue slots for the second CPU ram. But still nothing.
