Problem:- Unable to connect my PC to the internet via any browser (IE and Chrome), using a RJ45 LAN cable connected to my D-Link DIR816. Troubleshooted and it gave me this “The remote device or resource won't accept the connection”. I also cannot connect to my router page on any browser, it gives the same error. Wifi works perfectly with all other devices and this is the first time I am having this issue.

Solutions I tried:- Tried rebooting my wifi and PC, changing LAN ports on router, plugging out the LAN cable from my PC and then plugging it back in, disabling my antivirus (Quick Heal) and firewall, resetting Chrime and IE settings, disabling the Ethernet connection and enabling it again, turning off proxy settings (were never on), checked router settings for any problems with LAN connection (everything seemed fine). It also showed that LAN was sending and receiving packets (don’t know if this matters).

More:- I also tried looking for solutions here and on some other websites to no avail. Nothing worked for me. I didn’t install any new apps that would interfere with the wifi, proxy or firewall settings. I can share screenshots and logs and any other info if you need (please provide steps for logs). Please fix this issue for me, would appreciate it a lot.

Edit- Put the post in a more organised format.

Solution
Well foolish me, I changed the value of ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ProxySettingsPerUser’ from 0 to 1. That enabled the automatically detect settings on the settings/proxy page in settings and then I disabled the use proxy setting right below it and now it’s working

Yes my IP address is set to obtain automatically, it’s still not working even after 3 days. Sorry for the late reply, I was out of network range.
