- Get an (external) drive the capacity of the pool;
- Download a Linux CD which can make image copies, like CloneZilla;
- Boot that CD, plug your external drive, and make image copies of your storage pool' drives.
- Disconnect the backup drive.
- Now, try whatever recovery tool you might find.

excellent point. i wasn't thinking.. DERP! I hope OP has backups, like I said before because this could get EXPEN$IVEProfessional data recovery services usually require you to purchase storage media for storing recovered data.
