[SOLVED] Update windows 10 now or later.

At the moment i am running a i7 3770 and windows 7 but will be doing a new ish build and moving on up to a i7 9700 windows 10 but keeping my current HDD.

Is it better to go windows 10 now with my i7 3770 or when i power up the new build to boot from the install disc

Just install Windows 10 on your new system using Windows Media Creation Tool to create a Windows 10 install USB drive.

Forget Windows 10 on that i7 3770 system. It's not that it can't work. You just don't need it right now.

If you update your current Win 7 to 10, on the current system...you can almost certainly use that license on the new system.
Not the actual install, but rather the Win 10 license. $0.

Win 10 has significantly changed the licensing rules.
