Updating an old acer 5315

I have an acer 5315 in perfect condition I bought a new battery because the old one was DEAD and a charger and turns on Everything works So the thing is I got a canon pixma 2522 and I've been trying to set it up on my acer but the popup says it can't, Please some advice Thankyou Eve.

Your question and post are a bit off, what is the operating system, and what exactly does the error say? How exactly are you trying to install it?
