Hello,

I need some help/guidance on upgrading my current build.

My build is currently the following:
  • ATX MSI B350 Gaming Plus
  • AMD Ryzen 3 1300X Quad-Core 3.5GHz
  • 2x RAM SO-DIMM Crucial Ballistix 4x DDR4-2400MHz
  • PSU Corsair VS450W
  • Asus GeForce GTX 1050 Phoenix 2GB
I'm looking to upgrade my build my build to be able to run Red Dead Redemption 2, which is currently running only with the bare minimum settings (this game is quite demanding).

I was thinking about upgrading my graphics card to a GTX 1660.
Would this be enough? Would I also need more RAM? Or would this card not be a good choice?

Thank you in advance.

Estimable
Well there are 3 pieces that could change a lot:
  1. GPU
  2. RAM (if you have 8GB, grab another 8 for FPS).
  3. CPU (should hold unless you will bump graphics a lot, not sure if that GPU will be able to)
You cannot take any stronger card than 1660 because of PSU, so it's the only way to go.

Ram will help, no doubt if you have less than 16GB.
expect ~50FPS around medium-high settings.

Ok, thank you for your answer.

Would a GTX 1660 Ti be suitable?
It's still in the 1660 range, I'd guess. And from the prices I checked, it appears to be worth the difference.

Yeah, go for a Gtx1660ti it will hold up for years in 1080p gaming. 8GB ram will be fine but you should upgrade it in the future to 16.You can also overclock your current RAM to 2666¿? It may be stable.
The CPU is a low end Ryzen that can deal with the 1660ti but dont expect the best performance...
