[SOLVED] Upgrade My CPU Or GPU??

Hi there, I'm looking to possibly spend some of my tax returns on some new PC hardware and was looking at the new RTX cards or Intel's newer I9. I currently have a GTX 1080 with an i7 7700k and was just wondering whether itd be a good idea to upgrade my CPU or GPU or neither. I game at 1440p 144hzs and I really like to be around 90fps+ with mostly ultra or very high settings. So should I wait for future generations or spend my money on the current ones and if so what would be my best move ? Thanks!

I wouldn't invest more in your current core.

Wait.
Nothing wrong with "High" settings. Ultra incurs a big performance hit and rarely provides noticeable visual improvement over High. Most of the articles I've seen, you can barely tell the difference in screenshots, let alone full motion gaming.
