Question Upgrade PC: suggestions on components

As by title, i have in my mind to upgrade my PC. Currently i have this build and i play in FHD 60Hz.

MOBO	ASRock B450 Pro 4
CPU	AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor, 3600 Mhz, 6 core, 12 processori logici
CPU Fan	DEEP COOL GAMMAXX 400 V2 Blu
RAM	HyperX Predator Memoria DDR4 16 GB Kit (2 x 8 GB), 3200 MHz
GPU	NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti INNO3D Twin x2
PSU	Corsair TX650M Serie TX-M Semi Modulare, 80 Plus Gold EU, 650 watt

Based on my (little ) experience and information that i got, i thought to take these new components:
-Ryzen 5600X CPU
-PNY RTX 3070 8GB GPU
-Monitor LG 27'' 2K 180Hz Monitor


My Goal would be to switch to 2k 144Hz, but of course i accept every advice you have.
What do you think? these components match good with my build?

Means that a clean and precise hit is not required, it's just enough that it's close. In this context, you could have chosen worse or better but it will work.

Good solid choice for the 3 components you are looking to upgrade.

Personally I would try and stretch to a 5700x over the 5600x but it would depend on your use case.

I recently bought the same monitor and it has been brilliant. So much so that I am looking at getting a second one!

Honestly I don’t know because the most of advices I received didn’t' speak about 5700X. It is compatible also?
I remember i asked about the 7600X, but that CPU need a DDR5 MOBO (Sorry if i'm making some mistakes regarding the components, this is a bit out from my competence)

If you're considering the 5600X, probably take a long hard look at the 5600 (non-X)

Yes, the differences are minimal because most games [today] don't utilize the extra cores/threads. From that standpoint, a 5600/5600X is the best perf/$. Compared to a 5600, you're spending nearly double for ~10% gaming improvement.

Get the 5600 over the 5600x, unless there is only like a $10 difference in price. Also userbenchmark is terrible for comparisons.

The 5700X is up to 25% faster in multi-threading as it's 8 cores/16 threads rather than 6 cores/12 threads. It just gives you a little bit of extra headroom as games get more demanding as well as smoother multi-tasking. My two cents would be your better off having 8 cores in 2022 rather than 6. If you want to move to high refresh rates an 8 core chip will give you smoother frame times in some of the more demanding games. The 5700X is almost twice as powerful as your 2600X too so it makes the upgrade more worthwhile.

I did read about the core, in fact i definitively agree with you.
I was just confused because the scores between 5600X and 5700X were very similar.

They are very similar CPU's, on a per core basis the 5600X is 100Mhz faster out of the box, but that's meaningless in the real world, your much better off with the 2 cores. If your looking at Userbenchmark then the metric to take notice of is the average '64 core speed' which shows a 27% difference. The 8 core difference that shows 12% is misleading because it's running 8 threads on a 16 thread chip so it's not getting the most out of it.

Till now i played games that didn't need so much high requirements. (Hearts of Iron 4, Dying light 1, Fallout 4)
Then i played Cyberpunk and i noticed that with my following build i need to put down the graphics.

Cyberpunk likes a fast 8 core CPU. I definitely agree that a 5700x is the way to go here, unless you can afford a 5800x3d.

i bought 5600x and 6800xt yesterday and im undescribely happy with it and i recommend you to buy the same (smart access memory combining amd gpu and cpu is incredible, try googling about it)
6800xt is mostly compared with 3080 and it is even better than 3080 if we compare performance (which is almost same) and price (where is 6800xt cheaper for like 50%)
my friends who own 3070Ti and 3080 cards say that 6800xt is "a little" better than the 3080, so.. trust me 3070 cant even be in this story with 3080 and 6800xt
the only thing you should do is get some good cooler for 5600x because temperature (in warzone in my case) is going wild, reaches 90°c and i had to raise my base clock from 3.6 to 4.2 and disable turbo boost so my cpu doesnt go over 4.2, now i have same performance and temperature is under 64.. thats temporary solution until i buy new cooler.. i hope i helped and you will think again which components to buy.. cheers

It's worth noting that Nvidia has significantly better Ray Tracing performance than AMD, so it really depends on what the OP prioritises. DLSS is also notably better than AMD FSR.

The above benchmark is Cyberpunk, the 3070 comfortably outperforms the AMD 6800XT and that's with DLSS disabled. Once you switch it on the AMD cards are in the rear view mirror.

If you are keeping this a while go with the 5700x. As to gpu, I’d look at the 6700xt if you are on a budget, or look at the 6800xt. Though Newegg has one 6900xt for about 654 or so.

I’ve got a 6700xt and it does fine at 1440p though.
