Hello. This PC I purchased has only 460 W PSU and is already overheating. I would like to upgrade it to 650-750 Watts. Contacted Dell forum but they offer me a used 850W one for $230. I do not understand compatibility and if someone here on the forum would be so kind to assist me I would indeed greatly appreciate it.

Here are the spec. from the Dell forum:

I found a compatible power supply on Amazon.com that will fit the Dell 5675. The only thing that didn't fit was 1 out of the 4 screws which is not a problem. The power plug is also in the correct position on the left as the old 460watt PSU. Do yourself a favor and buy the following https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-Technology-Strider-P...

Do not buy Dell's crappy 850watt power supply for an outrageous 250 bucks. You can find Dell's upgrade on Ebay for a reasonable price but non of them come with the cables (wiring harness) so even if you do buy the unit its useless. I hope this solves everyones PSU woes =P

Unfortunately the PSU they use in their machines is proprietary and it's been said in the links you've provided. You can also look at this:

Although it looks like you can drop in a desktop grade ATX power supply, you're forgetting that the PSU has diagnostic LED's/functionality which would be necessary to power up the system(fail safe's put in place by Dell). The motherboard however can power off an off-the-shelf ATX power supply.

You're also only going to need a 600W PSU for the entire system.

I recently purchased the 5675 with the Ryzen 1800x. It looks like the recommended wattage for the RX 580 is 550W. Aside from cost, why would Dell opt to use a 460 W PSU? I'd eventually like to upgrade the graphics card in the not so distant future. What you said about the proprietary PSU functionality is cause for concern.

Information on modifying the system is limited and mot are probably busy gaming on it to realize, lol! I always add more wattage than necessary because I'd prefer having headroom than run at a defined limit. Longevity wise, it helps to have more wattage at your disposal.

Hello
I purchased this Dell PC at Best Buy being told that PSU is 850 W. I just run diagnostic software and the power supply is only 460 W. In the manual it states 850 W (only with computers shipped with AMD Ryzen 3/Ryzen 5/Ryzen 7 Mine has AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core Processor. I purchased this system with believing it has PSU of 850W because I plan to add additional drive, SSD drive and additional graphic card of the same value that came installed in the unit. Cannot blame Best Buy, they read the woltage from the manual. I can not return the PC back to Best Buy, return policy is 15 days. Just few days short. Do I get a free 850 W power supply by mail since being still under warranty from Dell? NO! I Purchasing it from Dell would be my only option? They have only used PSU's with 90 days warranty for $230.00. Paid for the desktop close to $1200. What would you advise me what to do? Is there some way to purchase compatible PSU? Thank you.
