So recently i've come across some problems with my i5 4460, it's on 100% when gaming and i would like a upgrade.
So should i upgrade to the ryzen 5 2600 (maybe the x version)? or is the upgrade not worth it?

My rig:
I5 4460
GTX 1050 TI
12 GB ram i believe 2400 mhz or something in that range
500 GB harddrive
250 GB harddrive

I'm planning on buying the msi b450 tomahawk and 16 GB of G.Skill ram.

Thanks for helping :)

With prices dropping (maybe due to Ryzen 3rd gen coming out in a couple of months) I'd get the 1600 or 1700 over the 2600/2600X and use those savings to get the CM EVO 212 Black which is a bit better then the stock coolers and much more quiet. Make sure your memory is 3200mhz as Ryzen performs much better with it.

Yes, it's definitely an upgrade to your system.
Ryzen 2600 is the best bang for buck & 2600X is just a better binned chip which can OC higher with good cooling & provides extra performance.
For RAM, go for higher clocked RAM at least 3200Mhz in dual for more performance.

I would personally wait a couple of months for Zen 2 Ryzen 3000 series desktop processors.

Thanks for replying, I just bought a GTX 970 for a steal. Should I upgrade anything in the system right now or?
