It's a cost issue. Might be just as cheap to get a low end g41 or g43 board and a kit of 8 gb ddr3 to go with it. The 8 gb kits are going for only $30-35 and the boards for $45 at some locals. Then you could transfer the ram over to your next board. It also depends on your current windows installation. Oem windows for dell, hp, etc frequently only work with the original motherboard, requiring a new coa for a board change. And you probably know that 32 bit windows won't utilize more than 3.25 gb of ram anyway.
