Upgrading from a 5770

Im Upgrading from a 5770 and have around 400$ to spend....
Im looking at the 7970 (not sure which one)
Im also looking at the gigabyte 670 Windforce. However I heard its not the best card out there and their customer service isnt the best. And ive heard its absolutely amazing...
This will go into my current build while I a mass the funds for a new build.
Like I said I have around 400$.
Im really leaning towards the Gigabyte 670... for 360$ on Newegg.com

The 670 and 7970 are basically equal with the 7970 better in some games with the 670 better in others.

Pretty much anything to everything i tend never to stick to one game. If that helps at all....

Well, I'd go with the 7970. The prices on the 7970 are dropping to $410 next week. But, w/ manufacturer rebates, it will be cheaper.

I can get a 670 for less than 400$. why would you go with the 7970 for 400$

If you play on 1080p go for a GTX 670. If you play on higher resolutions an HD 7970 would be better. But I guess that the first is the case, so I agree with you that there is no reason to spend more than this 670:

The 7970 OC's like a beast, so it can easily beat the 670/680.

Allright what 7970's would you recommend so I can do some more research. Still leaning 670 but still on the fence. Any other 670's someone might recommend? Or aviod.

Actually seeing the price drop on 7970, I think that I will change my recommendation to this 7970:

AMD does a really good job on keeping their GPUs pricing competitive.

EDIT: Generally 7970 is a stronger card, but untill recently more expensive. However, now that this is not the case, there is no reason not to prefer them.
